Click on the image to see the movement across a typical day of 30 taxis.

It is based on plotting the actual taxi location every 4 minutes using GPS technology from midnight to midnight over a 24 hour period.

As you will see from the video, all taxis go to where activity and consumption occur, in other words where a big audience can be found. Some taxis will operate primarily within the local community others will travel further as customer needs dictate.

In both situations they are positioning themselves amongst the hives of activity occurring each day.

  Travelling major thoroughfares across Sydney
  Going through the major shopping precincts
  Entertainment and leisure precincts
  Major sporting venues that week
  Special trip attractions such as Sydney Airport
